HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL DADS!!  XD


This morning, when my dad was moving the canaries cage outside for fresh air, a budgies flew/landed in the backyard!! So instead of leaving it there which would eventually lead to its death (They're house pets, used to being fed and cared for.. out in the open? plus my neighbourhood has HEAPS and HEAPS of cats =/ ) my dad took it in =D Literally.. he came towards it and just picked it up =] SO.. my dad came into my room and he was like.. "wow.. still sleeping.. not even gonna wake up for the budgie?" and.. I shot out of bed LOL Sooo I took a look at the budgie.. and it's a male!! Thankgod!! I don't really like females.. they're so nasty and agro lol. Males are more gentle and their bites aren't painful ^ ^  I took him in my room, clipped his wings and named him "Nano" He's currently sleeping on my laptop case under the piano. Hope he doesn't poop but thats a hope wasted LOL

Here's a pic :)  He's pretty old. Definately not young, and because he's an adult, I can't really make a precise guess.. he's age could range from.. 1-6yrs maybe.. or even more lol (They can live up to 25 years)

Hoping someone would go knocking looking for him. Would be nice to know he had a loving owner.

[EDIT] My bad!! He's pretty young! I think lol. I got confused because he's one of those types that doesn't have much pigment. =D A pied =] Oldest he could be.. might be a year old or less. I'll just wait and if he molts then he's definitely young >.< Also, his cere (the section above his beak where his nostrils are) are still kinda translucent.. so another pointer to him being young.  :P

Will Mars Look as Big as the Moon on August 27? Nope

Pass this on to everyone that fell for it lol. I was wondering why it wasn't boardcast on the news or papers
Every year around this time, an email circulates across the Internet speculating that on August 27th, Mars will look as big as the Moon in the sky. And every year, I go ahead and debunk it. Here's a link to last year's version. Once again, I'd like to inoculate all my Universe Today readers, to make sure you understand what's going on, and you're prepared to explain to your eager friends why this non-event isn't going to happen.
Say it with me. Mars won't look as big as the Moon on August 27th.

This strange hoax first surfaced on the Internet back in 2003. An email made the rounds with the following text:

The Red Planet is about to be spectacular! This month and next, Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter that will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in recorded history. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287. Due to the way Jupiter's gravity tugs on Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only be certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth in the Last 5,000 years, but it may be as long as 60,000 years before it happens again.
The encounter will culminate on August 27th when Mars comes to within 34,649,589 miles of Earth and will be (next to the moon) the brightest object in the night sky. It will attain a magnitude of -2.9 and will appear 25.11 arc seconds wide. At a modest 75-power magnification
Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. By the end of August when the two planets are closest, Mars will rise at nightfall and reach its highest point in the sky at 12:30 a.m. That's pretty convenient to see something that no human being has seen in recorded history. So, mark your calendar at the beginning of August to see Mars grow progressively brighter and brighter throughout the month. Share this with your children and grandchildren. NO ONE ALIVE TODAY WILL EVER SEE THIS AGAIN

There are a few problems with this. The first problem is that the email doesn't actually mention the date; it just says August 27th. This means it can live on for years and years, going around and around the Internet, forwarded by gullible people to their friends.
The second problem is that it's wrong. Mars isn't going to be making a close approach on August 27. The close approach this email is discussing happened back in 2003. It did indeed get closer than it had in at least 50,000 years, but this was a very small amount. On August 27th, 2003, Mars closed to a distance of only 55,758,006 kilometers (34,646,418 miles). The Moon, by comparison, orbits the Earth at a distance of only 385,000 km (240,000 miles). Mars was close, but it was still 144 times further away than the Moon.
Instead of appearing as a huge red orb in the sky, Mars looked like a bright red star. Observers around the world set up their telescopes, and took advantage of this close encounter. But you still needed a telescope. And if you read the email carefully again, you'll see that it's trying to explain that.
There's an extra paragraph break. The last sentence of second paragraph is hanging. It says, "At a modest 75-power magnification ", but there's no period. The next paragraph starts up with the text, "Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye." In other words, if you put one eye into the telescope and looked at Mars, and kept your other eye looking at the Moon (which isn't actually humanly possible), the two orbs would look roughly the same size.
Mars and Earth do come together every two years, reaching the closest point on their orbits – astronomers call this "opposition". And we're in one of those years. But it's not going to happen on August 27th. Instead, we'll make our opposition on December 18th, 2007. At this point, Mars will be 88.42 million km (55 million miles) – further away than its 2003 opposition.
NASA is taking advantage of the upcoming opposition, and will launch the Phoenix Mars Lander in August. The spacecraft will make its shortest possible journey to reach Mars, arriving early next year.

27th Aug. What the Whole World will be waiting for.

Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will cultivate on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles off earth. Be sure to watch the sky on AUG. 27 12:30 AM. It will look like the earth has 2 moons.

The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.

Javelin

Weeee I'm so happy!!! >.<

It's my first time being chosen to represent the school in SCC Athletics! (Sydney Catholic College)

As the title says, I was chosen because I came second in javelin. LOL I was so happy I couldn't stop sharing the news with my friends, but then.. there was one particular person.. that just.. ruined my mood... jeeze she doesn't have to be that obvious. She wasn't even happy! Well..  she looks that way..

What does she say? "So, I go every year"
So I asked her "Did you get a note?"
And she replied "No. Not yet. But I will. I have to, because I'm like, good at everything ahaha"
And so I said "mm.. yea I know you are..."

Far out.. why is she always like that? When it comes to things she's good at, no one's allowed to be better than her! Last year I came second, pretty close to her score, and when I got my ribbon for coming second, I was soooo excited because I got a ribbon for javelin for the first time! And what does she say to congratulate me? "So? I always get first" Pfftt yea as if I don't know. I'm always under her for Javelin. There's no chance that I could get first place, you know why? She's ALOT ALOT taller than me, and one thing for sure, she's alot bigger too, so waaaayy more strength in those arms. With that height and strength, I'm at such a disadvantage, but at least I came second!! -sigh- I only came second  this year because she was absent..

But yea! 27th August I won't be at school :) I'll be at some place representing the school.  =] So excited lol, but upset that my friend is always like that to me.. when ever I share something with her, something I accomplished and I'm happy, yea she congratulates me.. but that line always comes up afterwards.. "So?..  I came/got this blah blah blah.." :'(

I'm going to buy myself a hard-drive, this Thursday when I go Westfields with Linda.

Gonna stuff all my things in that hard-drive, then reboot my laptop. Start everything all again =]

Delete ALLLLL the unneeded stuff too.

Mini Outing

Kitty, Jessica and I, was suppose to go to the that uni opening day?

Well.. we DID go there, but it wasn't really meant for us? I mean.. we were totally confused when we went in lol, and everyone was like.. around 19's+  :S

ANYWAYS.. it was very enjoyable today, but my shoulders are aching alot lol

Went into many many many of those umm.. shops like morning glory and stuff. Eating sushi.. more morning glory, then into this.. kind of market place, where I got my name painted :) Then into capitol, where my first dollar got me a strange looking thing, and my 2nd dollar got me another toy, and i think used for the same purpose as the first. Later Kitty and Jess told me its for your phone lol. my other $2 failed. DAMN YOU "L"!! He wouldn't drop for me :(

After that.. I bought my mum a stone like bonsai? -shrugs- OH YEAA... Also bought some thingymabob at emperor's thingo.. LOL yea. SO hot and yummy. =] Went back to cabra, bought 2 lollies from Jessica's shop, listening to her mum telling me how many pencil cases she has LOLOL and yea. Kitty went woolies =]

Carnival 2010

I know. Very late lol. I just got photos off Kitty and Linda.

And.. for the first time.. I feel very happy and relaxed that I'm in one photo, and it's like.. the most perfect photo with all the group members there. - besides Ariel and Ngan because they didn't come :( -

This time, I don't think I ruined it either lol, and yea. I really like it :)

 I just called up the ADF again, to ask about the requirements for that gap year, and he said that there may not be one in 2012 :'(  Also, I found out that this year, they chose 400 out of 4000 applicants =/

So its a very slim chance that I'll make it in, but I'm still going for it. Praying that there's one in 2012..

If there isn't one.. then I might as well continue on to uni/tafe..

Hope I don't need to resort to that :)

ADF Education Gap Year

Yea.. I'm going to apply for this.

ADF = Australian Defence Force. I'm going to apply for the gap year in the army section. There's also the navy and airforce.

After this gap year, I may wish to either continue serving the army, or return back to my normal life (Continuing on to study) I'm deciding to continue serving the army, but as part time. Part time is available in many forms. I can choose to work 14 days a year, or 100 days a year, once a week or one weekend a month. It can be arranged to not interfere with uni/tafe or any other jobs, and it can be decided with the employer talking to the ADF people.

The problem with this gap year is that it's extremely popular. (Among guys more than girls lol) Because there's so many entries, the application must be filled online, and they'll be asking many questions to see if you're suitable or not. Entries start from January (don't know precise date) to 31st of March. This was this year's entries for 2011. I've called them up (I had a woman and I though she was those auto thingos, her wording, tone and everything was so perfect I didn't realise it until she asked for my name. I was thinking "why would an auto ask for my name?" So after I said my name she greeted me so yea. XD) and they said it should pretty much be the same date next year. So if I really want a position I should apply as early as I can.

I've talked this through with my parents, and they've accepted. The problem was for the part time (Which isn't always possible because some people are declined the position) and how to get there, because I think the ADF is located .. somewhere in Canberra? So.. yea imagine part time jobs, travelling all the way there =D

NOTE TO SELF: APPLY FOR ADF GAP YEAR ON THE 1ST OF JANUARY 2011!!!!!!!! MUST!!  Anyone else want to participate/apply with me? XD

This isn't a recipe on the net, it's homemade, but I'm going to spice it up with a touch of fried noodles in a tumbleweed style. Not sure how, but it'll work out!! :)

Dad's BD Present

So, my dad's birthday is this month. Coming up soon =] I went and bought a Chinese Golden Dragon origami thingo, for $9. So.. in 2 days, it's completed! XD With the help of my slaves. I didn't make them my slaves though, they offered. So these slaves of mine, helped fold the many pieces, which was around 340-360 or so. Who are they?

Rollerblades

I've received my Inline Skates!!

Well.. its not pretty and hot as that black and green one lol.. but.. its alright..

I opened the box and i was horrified.. it looked sooo bigg!! and I place it next to my foot which was tiny in comparison lol.. So scared it wont fit.. but i tried it on.. and it fits snuggly! Still has space for me to grow in to it -thats if i'll ever grow-

Took it for a roll outside. Smooth ride, very comfortable, but hard to turn. I haven't been on inline skates for years.. and luckily I didn't fall going downhill. Very scary lol.

Piano Song

Mmmm I got a suprise for my group. I'll learn this song that EVERYONE KNOWS AND SHOULD LOVE. But it'll probably take me a looooooooong time because.. well its not hard, just super fast. I'll probably learn it by christmas LOL. Just letting you guys know first ;)

Animal Shelters

I can't stress enough why you people should spay/desex your animals. For every dog or cat that dies every 5-10 seconds, there is always someone who is responsible for it. I know I've been responsible for more than 3 deaths, and I'm so ashamed, even when that happened when I was 14. Watch this video. You'll understand how difficult things are. I've cried watching this, and many more. Don't buy a dog, adapt one. Don't breed them. Spay them. Don't blame people for putting them to sleep, blame yourself. Blame yourself for not helping them. Blame yourself for not spaying or desexing them. Blame yourself for buying them off friends, or from pet shops. So many people has said this is cruel, inhumane. But what can we do? To be able to keep them for longer, they'd have to build a near-minimum of 40 shelters a year! Where does the money come from? Where's the point in that? People would just use that as an excuse to continue to breed, to drop their dogs of. No offence but this is especially asians. I've been through it. I've argued and had many fights with my dad, because he'd just drop off out pets he didn't like, and I would scream, cry, run after them, lock myself in, starve myself etc, but there's nothing I can do. For the first time, my dad has changed. Spaying our dog, literally preventing unwanted puppies. Yes they're cute. But are they cute enough, to turn away from those that were born to die? To turn away those that only have 6 days to live? Yes thats right. All cats and dogs that end up in shelters, all have 1 week to live. 2 maximum. Why? Because nearly 100 dog/cats are killed everyday in EACH SHELTER. Think about what you're doing! Spay/desex your pets if you care about the deaths or over 5 million animals EACH YEAR!!

Walford Salad

Mmm on Tuesday my hospo class made walford salad =]

Consists of walnuts, celery, apple and mayonnaise. We had to make our own mayonnaise and.. I think most of the class didn't succeed. However, I did =] hehee. I just think I added one ingredient a little too much.. it tasted a bit off, but otherwise, perfect texture and nice colour lols.

I'd love to own a Toyota Yaris YRS 5 door hatchback auto in the future :) The 3 door one is pretty, but 2 seats (obviously lol) so naahh.. Colour would be either ink (black) or the lighter black, or silverish thingo...

Pet shops

Approximately 130,000 dogs and 60,000 cats are killed at pounds every year. Unbelievable, eh?
Want to support this? Go buy pets at the pet shop.

How can this be? Google it lol. If you want me to explain I'll go on forever.

BTW. People that breed their pets just for fun because they want puppies, are supporting the deaths of hundred of thousands of cats or dogs every year. YES THATS RIGHT. You get 6 puppies, you kill 6.

IMAGINE IT. Your dog gets pregnant, (or makes one get pregnant) She gives birth to 4 pups. Those pups grow up, 2 of them are female, they get pregnant, more pups, then THOSE grow up etc etc. Not just that, but can you guarantee that all those pups will go to good homes? Can you be sure that they'll stay there? Because that can never happen all the time. Your pups might go to your friends or their friends, but then they might not be up to it when they actually experience the difficulty of owning one. So what do they do? Give them away (same thing might happen) or dump it of somewhere and eventually, some will end up at the shelters, awaiting death sentences.

Want a dog? RESEARCH ABOUT THEM. Do you have the time? The love? The patients? The facility? If yes, then go get one at a professional dog breeder, or rescue one from the shelter/pound. You can get one from common breeders. These people are not those that breed once or twice. Common breeders in other words, would be those that devote part of their life to breeding healthy puppies and providing adequate or excellent care.

Last thing lol. DONT ever get fooled by the cute puppies or kittens in that glass window. They're there to attract you. Yea go ahead take a look, a few awwwws here and there, but NEVER EVER BUY ONE. Want to see proof of pet shop care? Just look at the bird section. See the budgies? Around 10-20 are kept in that tiny cage. Same with the parrots. How long do you think they live in there until someone gets them? Think bout it lol

Sports Carnival

2nd last carnival completed. I did my best. Good results XD

One of the important things -> I participated in the group photo, which i'd never do.. but i dunno why i just felt like i wanted to for some..

SO today, I came first for the 100m. But I was lucky that I didn't have the fast ppl versing me lol. I came 2nd for javelin =] It went 16.something metres! XD 1'st place was a yr 12. 3rd was Natasha Grima! =D I entered the 400m and camed 8th out of 9 ppl and I got my house 3 points :) I did discus and I dunno how many points I got for my house, but at least I tried cause I failed LOL. Umm sack race with yr 11 and 12 I came 2nd, the umm flag race i think its called, where the teacher kicks the football, and one person from each house tries to get it, whoever does stays for finals. SO, I RAN after it, caught the ball, did a rolly polly to get up, turned around.. and SMASH. 5 other people smashed into me, Pamela went for the dived, they all tackled me. GOD I was shocked and in my head i was saying "oh crap what the hell" sooo... I got tackled backwards, fell and hit my head on the ground, they were still trying to get the ball and someone tried jumping on me, I got a bruise on my arse. I rolled up into a ball, with the football tucked between my body and they gave up except 1 lol, but I still made it so i let it go. Gosh i was covered in grass. Ummm... Long jump .. my furthest was 3.18 -sigh- I was the smalled so.. smallest legs lol. Rowie.. OMG she got 4.8 - 4.9m!! crap man.. and she was soooo tall it was amazing when you see her jump!

SO.. mm yeaa... In the car I felt like vomiting, my head throbs since after the fall, tried to get some sleep at the carnival.. dozed off a few times.. nearly vomited in the car.. went home and slept.. now i wake up with a massive migrane and i feel so sick and dizzy.. and I cant sleep on my right side because of my butt-bruise! why cant it be on the left! -cries-

OVERALL. Great Day =] Roger and Andy also had sport carnival lol.

-sighh- This is so sad, why don't these things happen to me in the holidays? Why now! When its term 3, and I need to be there for cheerleading!!

Monday I didn't attend school, because I came down with a cold during the night. I guess it was because I gave my dog a bath at 9pm =/ And it was cold at night too. Wait.. How the heck would I get from that? Easy (though I didn't really think about it) I don't give my dog her bath in the clothes I'm wearing. I strip. NOO not everything ROFLS. I wear a singlet and underwear.. yes weird.. but its better than getting your PJ's or whatever you're wearing soaking wet. AND I had the window open.. freezing mmhmm but if I dont open the window and turn on the fan I would suffocate with the smell of wet dog =D

SOOO Came back to school on Tuesday.. went well.. didn't do much cheerleading because more than half the girls were at various meetings.

Today? Why am I typing this during school hours? Yes I'm at home, but I'm not planning to stay home all day. Besides, I'm only having what girls would get once every one or two months? Yes that.. massive cramps. SO I'm sitting here typing this up with a heated wheat bag on my stomach and it feels awesome :) Lol thats not the only reason why I'm home atm. You'd know that I have.. this weird thing going on in my stomach yes? Well that's the cause of ________ =) So right now my stomach feels so warm and awesome, yet my stomach feels like its in nots. And whenever that sound comes along.. I feel like puking =='

WELL this is just to let you ppl know that I'm NOT jigging. If I did jig, it'd probably be the last day of school, yet I haven't jigged that even once so NO IM NOT JIGGING LOL.

LOLOL Something funny happened while I was at school.

My dad didn't clean up the rat glue and the 2 mice that was stuck on it.. and my dog tried to eat it, and she went too far LOL Her fur around her face got stuck a little, so when she pulled back her hair tugged.. so I think she thought the mice bit her. SO.. as a result she jumped awkwardly, and her feet got stuck, then she thrashed about and was whinning and screaming lolol. My dad ran out cause it sound like my dog was in huge pain or something (My mum said it was a long time since she saw him run to something like that.. he really must love cookie too lols) and he found the rat glue plate broken in half, one stuck on cookie's side, and the other stuck under her belly.. with the mouse stuck on it too lool.

SOOO my mum spent and hour or so taking it off her, having to cut some of her hair =/

I know.. it's sad.. but its FUNNY :L Poor doggy.. gave her a bathe =]

I don't know whats wrong with me, but I'm starting to panic about this term.

I know we're facing the yearlies soon, and I want to do good, but I don't understand. I have .. this.. feeling that I won't do good.. and I don't like it.. BUT I'm not going to give up. I've already isolated myself from addicting games. The only game I have left thats open to me, is omgpop, and .. that's not very addicting (except the hitmachine.. but I get sick of it after one game lol)

What's my goal for the end of year 11? To get a waaay better report than before. For the yearlies I'm aiming for 70 above (I know.. not such a high number since all my friends can get like.. 80 above or something.. they're just too smart)

uughh... I still have that gut feeling.. especially for english.. since I suck at it so much.. I know english is my worst subject, and I don't know how to improve on it =/

Still haven't finished that 30-day letter thingo. I'll finish the whole thing one day lol, I'm also moving away from this blog too. So.. I'll probably post "major" stuff only =D

Diana's Outing

It was alright. I spent around $96 LOL

I shouted $30 for the restaurant. We ate at a place thats like Yum Cha, so I shouted the "large" section, which was 5 dishes =]

Then we were suppose to go karaoke but.. $6 for an hour, and I'm not going to sing.. so Angela, Kitty, Jessica Li, Jessica Dang, Brittany, Michee, Megan and I went shopping. Dang and Brit went their ways, we went ours =]

My first time in that massive bookstore (I think it's my first time.. LOL) and I was SOOOO excited when the book I was looking for, for 4 years popped up on the comp. Then my hopes died as it was SOLD! -cries- So I got "Grave Of The Fireflies" for $30 :)

Ok soo.. I'm not exactly putting the events in order LOL but yeaa.. Before that bookstore we went to Morning Glory? I think.. the one that's colour coded and has 3 lvls. YUP well I spend $7 for a brown doggy bean-bag plushy. It was small but so cute!! XD Got it for my mum and she LOVES IT hehee. Here's a pic LOL

NOW, I gotta clean my room and complete all house chores.. then.. MOVIE time!! XD
