English Assignment

So.. I've finished reading my book for english >.< What have I chose? For the print text, I choise "On The Jellicoe Road" It's something I read before back in year 10. I was a dedicated bookworm back then so I was allowed to read senior fiction whilst being a junior. Just.. not books with explicit language or imagery or.. things like that LOL though I doubt the school has it =P For the picture book, I'm going with "The Lost Thing" bu Shaun Tan. In year 10 we've read "The Red Tree" by same author, and boy that was a deeeeep book, and I've looked this one up and its by far the best, and its perfect for belonging ^^. And.. Sydney Morning Herald? I don't even read the newspapers lol.. and I don't want to buy one for one article.. so.. I think I'll have a look at some of Kitty's collection (If you haven't chucked all of them lol) And that's pretty much it. I ordered the picture book online :) Shall have it in a week or two.. so I'll start analysing the book soon then. First I should re-read it AGAIN (I don't mind lol) then jot down some quotes. =]

SUCCESS

After countless failed attempts, I have finally mastered my song. Through frustration, determination and will, I have succeeded in recording my own piano piece without ANY mistakes. No I didn't do a video record lol. I just recorded it on my piano. So.. through hundreds of tries.. I have ONE that's perfect. I can always play it again, but it's deemed to have a mistake in it =D So now, I need a good video recorder.. anyone got one? I can use my phone.. but there's the static that you always here. I want to record it without static, then convert it to mp3. It's not possible for me to record any songs I play on piano well.. simply because I don't have a camera, or a stand :)

First Day back to school! I'm happy and sad. Happy to see my friends, sad that holidays has ended. I'm also frustrated by the fact that.. I FORGOT TO GET A NEW BUS PASS!! I can't believe I forgot! Jeeze.. so disappointed in myself. I should try to get it by this week, better yet today or tomorrow. Probably tomorrow because my parents are waaayy busy.. well.. ... today was an early start lol. Woke up at 6:30am, shower.. and now I'm braiding again for my mum. Better get off here lol. Shall edit this after school :)

EDIT: Ahhh so first day back wasn't so bad XD Got our first assignment for year 12 lol. English.. belonging..  we have 8 weeks to do it, and so its due end of term before holidays. Will be starting year 12 biology tomorrow, and seriously, I'm starting to get sick of writing the word "Belonging" I wrote it ALOT of times in fundamentals, then ALOT of times in english LOL. Maths was same as usual.. very slow.. quiet.. boring.. we got 2 chapters left. Started on Right angles and Pythagoras Theorem which is so easy because i did that in 2U.. but this is an EASIER version lol. I enjoyed lunch. Spent it in the music practice room with Jessica, Kitty and Jenny. I was surprised they said it was good =D And happy of course. I thought it sounded a bit weird lol

Guitar Hero 5 Skins

I'm trying to find a skin for the guitar hero, so it's protected from scratches and damages.. and I cant really find one that looks.. alright.. so.. I customized 4 different images to fit for the guitar, and I'd like your opinion :) Leave a comment to this blog on your opinion please =P

Went back to the store and got another bundle, but not the same. I just got the normal bundle, and it was $120 so with $30 spare my dad chose his game lol

Mmmm I haven't blogged for a looooong time lol

let's see... this holiday.. was alright. Didn't go anywhere much.. no fishing... :'( I had two outings. The first one was with Sa's group to liverpool westfields, where we watched Despicable Me. That movie was great, hilarious, sad and cute! ^^ We all realised, that the rest of the room we were in, were filled with kiddies. They were all around .. under 10? And of course, adults that accompanied them. But we were the only "older" kids lol.

The second outing I had, was with Kitty, Megan and Roger. We went to the city for one particular destination -> The Hobby Shop! =] If you read Kitty's post, you would have seen her yellow car model yes? I tried looking for any wooden construction kit, but they didn't have any. They had a different type, that's the same, but made out of foam :) So it had colours which creates a whole new feel to it, and looks very awesome. So i bought 2. And here's a few pictures of them.

It was incredibly fun constructing these, and the instructions were very easy to understand. There were a few problems lol. One of them.. was that I had to spend a while poking out the holes where the pieces fit into another. The other problem was the instructions =] Some of them were wrong. They had the numbers mixed up, so the pieces with a certain number on the instructions, had a different number on the actual piece :S

Mmm.. on the second last day of holidays (yesterday) I had a major house chores rush lol. Then I spend at least two hours braiding simultaneously for my parents job (I found out it was 50c for each that was braided lol) and man, my fingers were dead =P So after this, the whole family went to buy Guitar Hero 5 Double Guitar Bundle, which was a limited sale. We left around 3:30pm, and it was a 19km drive (so says the tomtom) and we arrived around 3:55pm. So.. I went in, asked them about the item i reserved, payed for it ($150) then mum went clothes shopping. Went home, started up the PS3, and... my mood was ruined. One of the guitars was faulty. The strumming thingo worked perfectly fine, but the frets (neck) didn't work. And so I turned on the normal controller to enter the game, hoping that it will work ingame. Sadly.. there was also something wrong. When I tried "practice" It said I had to have a mic or headphone plugged in. That's when I realised that it read the guitar as a mic? So.. it think's my role is a vocalist, which is very confusing lol. I tried changing it but.. nope.. didn't work. By then I was sooo frustrated and Andy wanted to play multiplayer.. so I tried the other guitar and it worked perfectly fine! I tried swapping the neck, but it still didnt work for the other one. So now I'm cleaning the house, waiting for 10am to call up the shop -sigh- YUP thats bout it. All the other days, I stayed at home, eating.. sleeping.. anime-ing.. and pc gaming or watching my brother play Dante's Inferno. (It's pretty gruesome lol)

Sooo.. quick recap.

Yearlies went by sooo fast. I stressed before exams, I relaxed during exams.. I stressed after exams. I got my PE back together. I was alright. I passed. 65% ranked 5th in class. Not bad. I think last year I had 50-58%?

Moonfest, was CRAP.. i mean seriously.. you call that fireworks? LOL where's the big explosion!! =D

hmmm what else.. oh yea.. today.. was so sad.. yr 12 farewell!! Right after the bell went I ran to the hall, hoping Jenny and Rawan were still there. They're the closest buddies in yr 12 to me.. especially Jenny :') I told myself I wouldn't cry, knowing this may well by the last time I see her.. so.. I didnt see her first.. but I found Rawan. We started, hugged.. and out of no where tears sprang from my eyes and came pouring out. Then I made her cry LOL omg.. it was hard to stop.. and then.. i found.. Jenny.. omg I just went went up to her and started crying my eyes out and there was ppl all around me LOL and she started crying too! -sigh- it went by too fast.. if only things between our parents were alright.. :') it was so sad.. seriously.. but hopefully I'll see her again someday. We said after her HSC exams we'll sneak out together lol. So i can accompany her and her group. Won't be awkward, I know them well too XD

SOO YEAA... Im so excited for pe i cant sleep... and.. my brother graduated! yay awesome!! He came FIRST in CONSTRUCTION and received a MEDAL!! I'm so proud of you Roger! [although you wont read this lol]

Oh yea.. one more thing. My mum didnt know and bought 2 EXTRA bottles of milk.. now we have..  3 and a half bottles of 2L milk.. and its overdue date is.. 24th Sept.. 2 more days!! WTH 6L of milk!! Yeaa lol

So!! IF you wanna buy books [to yr 11's or anyone] go buy from bookdepository (google that lol) its THE BEST place to buy books ONLINE! FREE SHIPPING. And I hope you fall in love with that site, because i know i have [have you kitty?] LOL

This morning, when my dad was moving the canaries cage outside for fresh air, a budgies flew/landed in the backyard!! So instead of leaving it there which would eventually lead to its death (They're house pets, used to being fed and cared for.. out in the open? plus my neighbourhood has HEAPS and HEAPS of cats =/ ) my dad took it in =D Literally.. he came towards it and just picked it up =] SO.. my dad came into my room and he was like.. "wow.. still sleeping.. not even gonna wake up for the budgie?" and.. I shot out of bed LOL Sooo I took a look at the budgie.. and it's a male!! Thankgod!! I don't really like females.. they're so nasty and agro lol. Males are more gentle and their bites aren't painful ^ ^  I took him in my room, clipped his wings and named him "Nano" He's currently sleeping on my laptop case under the piano. Hope he doesn't poop but thats a hope wasted LOL

Here's a pic :)  He's pretty old. Definately not young, and because he's an adult, I can't really make a precise guess.. he's age could range from.. 1-6yrs maybe.. or even more lol (They can live up to 25 years)

Hoping someone would go knocking looking for him. Would be nice to know he had a loving owner.

[EDIT] My bad!! He's pretty young! I think lol. I got confused because he's one of those types that doesn't have much pigment. =D A pied =] Oldest he could be.. might be a year old or less. I'll just wait and if he molts then he's definitely young >.< Also, his cere (the section above his beak where his nostrils are) are still kinda translucent.. so another pointer to him being young.  :P

Will Mars Look as Big as the Moon on August 27? Nope

Every year around this time, an email circulates across the Internet speculating that on August 27th, Mars will look as big as the Moon in the sky. And every year, I go ahead and debunk it. Here's a link to last year's version. Once again, I'd like to inoculate all my Universe Today readers, to make sure you understand what's going on, and you're prepared to explain to your eager friends why this non-event isn't going to happen.
Say it with me. Mars won't look as big as the Moon on August 27th.

This strange hoax first surfaced on the Internet back in 2003. An email made the rounds with the following text:

The Red Planet is about to be spectacular! This month and next, Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter that will culminate in the closest approach between the two planets in recorded history. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287. Due to the way Jupiter's gravity tugs on Mars and perturbs its orbit, astronomers can only be certain that Mars has not come this close to Earth in the Last 5,000 years, but it may be as long as 60,000 years before it happens again.
The encounter will culminate on August 27th when Mars comes to within 34,649,589 miles of Earth and will be (next to the moon) the brightest object in the night sky. It will attain a magnitude of -2.9 and will appear 25.11 arc seconds wide. At a modest 75-power magnification
Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. By the end of August when the two planets are closest, Mars will rise at nightfall and reach its highest point in the sky at 12:30 a.m. That's pretty convenient to see something that no human being has seen in recorded history. So, mark your calendar at the beginning of August to see Mars grow progressively brighter and brighter throughout the month. Share this with your children and grandchildren. NO ONE ALIVE TODAY WILL EVER SEE THIS AGAIN

There are a few problems with this. The first problem is that the email doesn't actually mention the date; it just says August 27th. This means it can live on for years and years, going around and around the Internet, forwarded by gullible people to their friends.
The second problem is that it's wrong. Mars isn't going to be making a close approach on August 27. The close approach this email is discussing happened back in 2003. It did indeed get closer than it had in at least 50,000 years, but this was a very small amount. On August 27th, 2003, Mars closed to a distance of only 55,758,006 kilometers (34,646,418 miles). The Moon, by comparison, orbits the Earth at a distance of only 385,000 km (240,000 miles). Mars was close, but it was still 144 times further away than the Moon.
Instead of appearing as a huge red orb in the sky, Mars looked like a bright red star. Observers around the world set up their telescopes, and took advantage of this close encounter. But you still needed a telescope. And if you read the email carefully again, you'll see that it's trying to explain that.
There's an extra paragraph break. The last sentence of second paragraph is hanging. It says, "At a modest 75-power magnification ", but there's no period. The next paragraph starts up with the text, "Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye." In other words, if you put one eye into the telescope and looked at Mars, and kept your other eye looking at the Moon (which isn't actually humanly possible), the two orbs would look roughly the same size.
Mars and Earth do come together every two years, reaching the closest point on their orbits – astronomers call this "opposition". And we're in one of those years. But it's not going to happen on August 27th. Instead, we'll make our opposition on December 18th, 2007. At this point, Mars will be 88.42 million km (55 million miles) – further away than its 2003 opposition.
NASA is taking advantage of the upcoming opposition, and will launch the Phoenix Mars Lander in August. The spacecraft will make its shortest possible journey to reach Mars, arriving early next year.

27th Aug. What the Whole World will be waiting for.

Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will cultivate on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles off earth. Be sure to watch the sky on AUG. 27 12:30 AM. It will look like the earth has 2 moons.

The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.

Javelin

Weeee I'm so happy!!! >.<

It's my first time being chosen to represent the school in SCC Athletics! (Sydney Catholic College)

As the title says, I was chosen because I came second in javelin. LOL I was so happy I couldn't stop sharing the news with my friends, but then.. there was one particular person.. that just.. ruined my mood... jeeze she doesn't have to be that obvious. She wasn't even happy! Well..  she looks that way..

What does she say? "So, I go every year"
So I asked her "Did you get a note?"
And she replied "No. Not yet. But I will. I have to, because I'm like, good at everything ahaha"
And so I said "mm.. yea I know you are..."

Far out.. why is she always like that? When it comes to things she's good at, no one's allowed to be better than her! Last year I came second, pretty close to her score, and when I got my ribbon for coming second, I was soooo excited because I got a ribbon for javelin for the first time! And what does she say to congratulate me? "So? I always get first" Pfftt yea as if I don't know. I'm always under her for Javelin. There's no chance that I could get first place, you know why? She's ALOT ALOT taller than me, and one thing for sure, she's alot bigger too, so waaaayy more strength in those arms. With that height and strength, I'm at such a disadvantage, but at least I came second!! -sigh- I only came second  this year because she was absent..

But yea! 27th August I won't be at school :) I'll be at some place representing the school.  =] So excited lol, but upset that my friend is always like that to me.. when ever I share something with her, something I accomplished and I'm happy, yea she congratulates me.. but that line always comes up afterwards.. "So?..  I came/got this blah blah blah.." :'(

I'm going to buy myself a hard-drive, this Thursday when I go Westfields with Linda.

Gonna stuff all my things in that hard-drive, then reboot my laptop. Start everything all again =]

Delete ALLLLL the unneeded stuff too.
